× Digging Up Stories: Family Genealogy Research Workshop with Kristen den Hartog Kristen den Hartog explores resources she and co-author Tracy Kasaboski used to create The Cowkeeper's Wish: where they found ancestors “wandering insane,” charged with crimes, dying in workhouses, and fighting in WW1. The workshop will appeal to Victorian, Edwardian and WW1 history buffs. Kristen and her sister Tracy, also a writer, were inspired to write non-fiction, and together they began researching the story of their father’s family in the Netherlands during the Second World War, which culminated in The Occupied Garden: A Family Memoir of War-torn Holland. The book received widespread praise for chronicling history through an intimate family story. From then on, den Hartog was hooked on research. Their latest collaboration is The Cowkeeper’s Wish: A Genealogical Journey, a second family memoir that fuses storytelling with historical research and genealogy. Location: Gananoque Legion
